Photographing Bar Mitzvahs is something I first began doing when working in New York years ago. After moving to Maine I have had fewer requests, but they still happen and I enjoy this great Jewish tradition even more now as a parent. I met the Casares family a year ago and did a family session in Lewiston. We had lots of goofing around moments, Andrew was a stand up comic making his sister laugh for her pictures. There were no dragging heels getting their pictures taken together with this family and I knew the Bar Mitzvah would be as enjoyable, if not more.
Andrew's mom Ally created a great event with a baseball theme since they are huge sports fans. Every table held the flag of a national team, there were concession stand snacks for all the kids. Even the staff at the Hilton wore baseball jerseys, it was awesome! One of my favorite visuals photographically was Andrew gliding into the party in a light up tie and glasses on a hoverboard!
