Summer Family Photo Shoot Outfit Ideas

Summer is a great time to plan a family photo shoot.  The sun is shining and everyone is glowing a little more from their summer tans.  Smiling and looking happy in your photos is the least of your worries, right?

But then comes the outfit planning...

  • What should you wear?
  • How much should you match?
  • What colors coordinate with each other?

I got you! Here are plenty of ideas for your summer photo shoot from previous sessions of mine that coordinate beautifully.

Black, White, & Gray

When thinking of summer your mind doesn't usually jump to black, white, and gray, but these colors can compliment the bright sunshine very well!  Whether you opt for solids or patterns, balancing out each color is the key to a beautiful result.

Spice up neutrals with some patterns for an aesthetically appealing result.

Blues & Greens

Shades of blue and green compliment the summer sky and foliage.  You can keep the colors light and pair with white to create a light and airy photo or go bold with more earthy tones to create a richer look.

Also, I just love the addition of florals with these colors.  They create such a beautiful combination.

Orange & Blues

As always, shades of blue, from sky blue to navy blue, are a great choice for summer photo shoots.  With all the different shades of oranges you can pair them together and create so many possibilities.

Keep the blues light and mix them with some patterns to create a light, yet appealing look.

Tan, White, & Blue

A classic combo for a summer photo shoot that will never grow old.  I have never seen a combination of these three colors that didn't work together to create an incredibly memorable photo.

Shades of Blue

Can you think of anything more appropriate for summer than beautiful shades of blue?! Endless possibilities!
