What Does a Senior Portrait Experience Look Like?
When most families reach out, it usually starts the same way.
A senior turns to their parent and says something like,
"I think I need to book my senior photos… everyone else is already doing theirs."
They’re seeing their friends post on Instagram, and they don’t want to be left behind. And honestly—that makes sense. This is a big moment.
So that’s when the conversation begins.
The First Conversation
My first conversation is usually with a parent. We talk through what they’re thinking, what their senior is like, and any questions they have.
Then I connect with the senior, too.
Because this experience isn’t just about getting photos—it’s about making sure they feel comfortable, understood, and truly seen.
If it feels like the right fit, we choose a date and begin planning.
Getting to Know Your Senior
Before the session, we spend time on a discovery call.
This is where I really get to know your senior:
-
Who they are
-
What they love
-
What matters to them right now
We talk about location—not just where to go, but why that place represents them.
At the same time, parents are often thinking about something deeper:
Where will I want to remember my child when this moment has passed?
That’s where artwork begins to come into the conversation.
Planning the Details
We guide you through everything:
-
Outfit choices
-
Styling
-
How it will all come together
You don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’m there to make the process feel easy and thoughtful from start to finish.
The Session
Then comes the session itself.
This is the fun part.
It’s relaxed, personal, and designed around your senior’s personality. There’s space for confidence, laughter, and the quieter, more reflective moments too.
The Design & Ordering Experience
After the session, we bring everything together in your design consultation.
This can happen the same day or the next.
You’ll come into the studio—often with the whole family—and experience a cinematic presentation of your images.
Together, we:
-
Select your favorite images
-
Design artwork for your home
-
Choose images your senior loves for sharing online
The Part Families Don’t Expect
This often becomes one of the most meaningful parts of the entire experience.
As we go through the images, I share what I see.
And something shifts.
Parents really begin to see their child—who they are in this moment, on the edge of what’s next.
Seniors feel confident, seen, and celebrated for who they are right now.
It becomes more than just ordering photos—it becomes one of those meaningful moments in the senior year experience that you’ll always hold onto.
So What Does a Senior Session Look Like?
It looks like:
-
A senior wanting to feel confident and included
-
A parent wanting to hold onto this season just a little longer
-
A process that brings everyone together
-
And artwork that lasts far beyond Instagram
Senior Year Moves Quickly
Who they are right now—their personality, their confidence, the small in-between moments—this season doesn’t last.
If you’re thinking about senior photos, it’s never too early to start the conversation.
And I’d love to help you create something that truly reflects who they are, and gives you something lasting to hold onto long after this year is over.
