Stephanie & Mike put on a show for their first dance. It was awesome. Steph worked in some of her Spanish theme onto the dance floor. Searles Castle provided a beautiful setting for these 2 to celebrate. It did not matter at all that it rained. The ceremony under the tent was beautiful, easy to hear everything. And the rain drops dripping off the tent made it that much more romantic. Stephanie's dress, let's talk about that. It fit ... perfectly... Dressmaker is Maria Rollo of Sartoria Italia / La Scala Bridal Shoppe (Revere, MA). Cake was by Jacques Fine European Pastries (Suncook, NH). The energy of the day was high high high. I loved all the dancing. Makes a photographer like me pleased all around.

On Sunday June 20, Dylan and Kyung Sun were married in Bayside, with a small group of close friends and family. Dylan is originally from Montville Maine. Kyung Sun from Korea. Kyung Sun's mother and sister flew in for the week. The two met in the Netherlands where they live and work. They are relocating to the US for a few years to pursue their latest passion, Uzazu, the language of energy. Two remarkable individuals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hillary won the Raising Maine Mom Make over for their August issue. Winners receive a make-over from Headgames salon. New headgames stylist Sarah gave Hillary a fantastic cut, highlights and make-up. Hillary has 2 children and enjoyed all the attention the make over gave. She also liked the camera, and the camera liked her :)

 

 

Headgames 10th anniversary party was sponsored by Portland's new Mainely Mara. Mainely Mara, is a new business in Portland offering deals on the best of the local boutiques and spas. Mara is also a former bride of mine. It was great to see her, and I love her new business. Ladies, sign up, it is one of those emails you will get with a discount on something you actually want! Headgames ladies were looking haute, as usual. :) Oysters were from Long Island, due to oil spill I had to ask.

What do I love. What do I love. I love June nights at 9pm. I love the color of the sky. I love puffy painted clouds that have many layers. I love the Eastern Prom in Portland. The blues of that hour sweep out in front of you and night time takes you in. Lucia wanted to go to a playground Thursday night after we left photographing Headgames 10th anniversary party with Mainely Mara. Had she not asked, or had I had a babysitter, I would have missed this beautiful transition into night. Thanks Miss Lucia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have been working with a former bride of mine, Arielle Greenberg Bywater on her current writing project, the Back to the Land Movement in Waldo County. Over the past 2 years, Arielle has interviewed various families throughout Waldo County who may fit under what we would imagine to be Back to the Land. I have met and photographed a portion of her interviewees. What I have found so far is there are some similarities between these families, one of them being that they all subscribe to being different. None of them subscribe to mainstream thinking. They all garden, and have chickens. But the reasons why they live the way they do absolutely vary.
