my virginia portrait session

While in Virginia 2 weeks ago photographing a benefit party for Youth Quest held by Belfor I had the pleasure of photographing these lovely, expressive and fun loving ladies. Aren't they gorgeous? They are to me, but I am biased. It is my cousin and her girls. Two beautiful, bright, strong girls sounds ideal to me. Good job cuz. I love hanging out with them. Not a dull moment in that house.

Ok, easy on the eyeliner girls. If I had Kate from Head Games do her make-up, it would simply be unbelievable image of beauty.

the nappis

I photographed the Nappi family, owners of Bow Street Market, one of the reasons why I love Freeport. Still had leaves on oak trees here in mid coast Maine in November. These are some of my favorites.

alex & peter

Alex & Peter were married on November 8th at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. Emotions ran high that day, tears, laughing, tears, more laughing. Visuals created by florist Autumn Poulin were incredible. I can't say enough about the food and cheese at Pinelands. yum yum and more yum.

sharon & peter's wedding

Sharon & Peter were married at Camp Hammond in Yarmouth Maine. Nippy weather moved all events inside, for more favorable lighting. The wedding was catered by the Black Tie Co . Her mother did the flowers. Click here for a preview.

sharon

Sharon enjoyed her wedding day and was great to photograph. She is the third Sharon I have known. The second is a girl at my daughter's preschool and the first was my elementary school bus driver. We are all a part of the cool "sharyn/sharon" club. :)

karen & andy's wedding

Karen I met the day of her wedding. She is a lawyer now in the Netherlands. I like the story her Dad told me about how she asked Andy to go away for a month or so to give her the space she needed to pass her NY Bar Exam. I think he took a European trip. You want to know a good story, ask a Dad about his only daughter on her wedding day. Karen & Andy were married on October 11 in Falmouth Maine. Beautiful colors and smiles galore provided inspiration that day and into the night. Preview.

symphony no.5 tocatta
Karen's father played the organ for their procession. I mean he didn't simply play the organ, he PLAYED the organ. I was most impressed by this performance and grand exiting that I have to blog it. When explaining this music I feel I must include a link to an actual performance of this piece so you can understand the drama. I recommend the music playing while viewing the preview.

Currently exhibiting at a location I am contractually bound not to name in a public manner, but located at Middle and Exchange Streets, are large portrait prints from the past year. If you are out on First Friday, maybe Lucia and I will see you there. And yes one of the images is of the Broderick girls shown above from the previous year.

politically correct commentary

Voting was not difficult here at all. No lines, no ruckus. The only thing that was strange was that I had to show whether my ballot had a red stripe on it, used for counting purposes apparently. So red stripes go one ballot box, no stripe in anther. To show the woman whether I had a red stripe meant I had to open it and she could see who I voted for! That made me very uneasy. As my ballot slid into the box, I looked at it and hoped it got counted. In fact I hope not to hear of any miscounted votes this year at all. I welcome a quality explanation as to why we still use the electoral college.
