November 5th, First Friday in Portland, I will be showing a series of images at Headgames Salon. The work featured is a collaboration with stylist Kate Pannil-Siersma. Over the past year we have been doing shoots to satisfy our own inner ideas. I will contact Kate and give her some of my ideas, and she will take it and make my people, ~ Eddie's friends, my zumba teacher, my cousin's daughter ... look even more the part than I had imagined. I love working with Kate.

Ah yes, Kate, my August 16 bride from 2008, featured in Seacoast bride magazine in 2009. I got an email from her placing her framed wedding print order and saying hey I will be in need of a maternity shoot! :) Kate brought with her some fantastic attire to shoot her round baby belly currently housing her little girl. Some of these fantastic things came from JCrew... some from her grandmother. Her grandmother who Kate says would be beside herself if she knew what we were doing, since according to Kate, her grandmother says pregnant women should wear moo moos and the pregnancy should only be known and discussed between the woman and her husband. ( and the photographer?) Charlie came out and crashed our shoot.

I have been photographing the Harvell family since Heather and Jon's wedding, 5 years ago! Heather's family has a tradition of a week at Higgins Beach each summer. ( um wish that was my family's tradition...) . I came across these shots. LOVE them. Little Joshua has the stance of Michael Angelo's David. Someone get some marble and carve that boy, good lord he has some juicy thighs and great body stance! Ah here is to the days of summer! So far gone now.... and for us Mainer's... it will be another 9 months before we get that those warm summer days again.

I have photographed Kelly before at the Casco Bay YMCA zumbathon this past winter. But she asked me for some new shots. NO PROBLEM. I love Kelly. I love Zumba because of Kelly. And perhaps because of Zumba I can still fit into my suit pants after eating lots of wedding cake, and then eating lots of (dark) chocolate bars while working on wedding photos. These shots came from Kelly's Monday night class at Pinetree Academy here in Freeport. We had a guy show up at class, who really likes to get down with all the ladies, need to blog him. So now that of the past week, Bring it On: Fight to the Finish is Lucia and mine favorite movie, hopefully Kelly will work a few those songs into a class! oh YAH. Kelly has modeled for me as well. In fact she will be features in a show of images I am showing at Portland's 1st friday this November 5th at Headgames! I will blog more about that soon. :)

I have been photographing the Altman family since Kate was pregnant with Greer. It is really a joy to see the kids now, kids, grow and develop between shoots. Both kids are captivating to me, but Greer being a bit louder and engaging than her brother, mostly due to age, tends to steal the show. She asked to use one of my cameras and was so pleased with holding it and hearing it fire off. She got some shots I really like looking at. I posted one at the end of their blog entry Alec brought Binga on the scene 1 of their 4 dogs, making the shoot even more realistic. With literally hundreds of photos taken, here are some of the ones I think speak Altman family to me. :)

Lucia and I have made new friends here in Freeport this summer: baby Lily, her momma Marteen and their new puppy Lucy. Lucia calls Lily her baby sister. They have relocated here from San Francisco courtesy of LL Bean. Expect more cute pictures of these 2 girls!,

I have been waiting to blog Mary & Nick's wedding ever since Meagan from Maine Seasons Events submitted images to Style Me Pretty. At last it was published. So here are photos from their wedding. The location, a total gem, and it is only 12 minutes from my house! Love that. Mary was the sweetest, was the frosting on the cake of this visually delightful day! Oh and I have never been to a wedding where I saw so many awesome dresses worn by guests. I should blog about that. I would turn around and go, ooo nice dress, ooo I would wear that ( in my mind of course). I have to run to go shoot the benefit auction for the Susan Curtis Foundation but finally I have updated my blog!

Earlier this month I photographed Susan's family in Phippsburg while they were vacationing in Maine from California. Susan is friends with Alex, one of my former brides . I can't forget Susan because I took one of my favorite wedding shots ever the moment Susan arrived on the scene at Alex's wedding July 27, 2002! Alex was getting her picture take on the stairs of her house in Biddeford Pool when Susan arrived, and as soon as they looked at each other they both began crying, like really crying. It was a b/w shot with my 2 1/4 camera. I should find the scan and post it. Meanwhile, though. Susan has 2 awesome boys (and 1 awesome husband!) Seeing these photos of her 2 boys makes me want boys. :)

Amelie & Xavier, a young and in love Montreal couple, were married at the Beachmere in Ogunquit this past August. The word for the day was "sexy". Amelie would say it during all the formal wedding party shots. It was awesome. Amelie also wanted to do something no other bride, American bride, has ever asked to do, and that was look into the sun. So we had bright blue skies behind the wedding party and sparkly eyed "sexy" expressions on their faces. My favorite memory is leaving the Beachmere heading down the coast past the Cliffhouse and being in a line of Quebec cars ( mostly VW like myself) and honking the entire way. We stopped at a Church on route to the reception to take photos. This place was sentimental to Xavier & Amelie, apparently they visited the Church late one night, maybe in high school, maybe slightly intoxicated, and maybe they got scared because of ghosts and ran off. Awesome church, the one with the red door, just down from the entrance of the Cliff House. We carried our picture taking escapade into York, where it was bustling with York Days crowd who were cheering on and in love with Amelie.

Katie contacted me again to do a family

Kacey & Kevin were married at the Cliff House in Ogunquit this past July. The day was overcast which created a wonderful romantic feel with the surrounding cliffs and passing boats. Kevin's one request from Kacey on the wedding day was to have her hair down. Which she did, and it looked lovely. Kevin was all smiles and Kacey was terrific to photograph. His 3 little ones and her glamorous tween were also terrific with the camera.
